How to request deletion of your data
If you would like us to delete the personal data and account information we hold about you or your dealership, you can request deletion review in one of the following ways:
- From your dashboard: authorised account admins can sign in and go to Settings → Account to submit a deletion review request or data export request. The request is recorded for internal operations and does not immediately delete account data.
- By email: send a request to privacy@dealer-social.io from the email address associated with your account. Include your dealership name so we can locate your records and verify authority to act on the account.
How we handle deletion
- We verify the requester and confirm the dealer account scope.
- We disable or remove user access where appropriate.
- We revoke or disconnect OAuth tokens for connected social platforms where their API allows it.
- We remove, anonymise, or retain dealer, vehicle, content, social post, and insight records according to legal, security, billing, audit, and operational requirements.
- Generated media assets stored in Cloudinary are handled under the generated media retention and cleanup process unless a verified deletion workflow requires earlier removal.
- Audit, security, billing, abuse-prevention, and backup records may be retained for limited periods where permitted or required.
Timing
We aim to process verified deletion review requests within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated analytics data that cannot identify you or your dealership may be retained.
Facebook & Instagram users
If you connected your Facebook or Instagram account to Dealer Social via “Login with Facebook”, you can also remove the app from your Facebook settings:
- Go to Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites.
- Find “Dealer Social” and click Remove.
When you remove the app from Facebook, Meta sends us a deauthorisation callback and we automatically revoke your stored tokens and mark the connection as disconnected.
